Racing Victoria (RV) advises that trainer Brian Cox will commence his period of three-and-a-half years’ disqualification at midnight this evening, 6 December 2016.
Mr Cox has applied to the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) for the review of parts of the Racing Appeals and Disciplinary (RAD) Board’s decisions which resulted in findings of guilt for eight breaches of the Australian Rules of Racing and in his disqualification.
VCAT today heard and denied an application by Mr Cox for a stay of proceedings pending the hearing of that review application.
VCAT advised that a directions hearing for Mr Cox’s appeal will be held on 16 January 2017 with the appeal hearing to be set for a later date.
