RV Stewards' Report - Emotionless Update
Racing Victoria (RV) stewards advise that the Charlie Appleby-trained Emotionless will undergo a bone scan at the University of Melbourne Equine Centre next Monday, 15 October to determine why the horse was lame in its right hind leg following a track gallop at the Werribee International Horse Centre (WIHC) last Saturday.
The results of the scan will assist Mr Appleby, in consultation with his veterinarians and RV veterinarians, to determine whether Emotionless is in a suitable condition to accept for Saturday week’s $5 million Stella Artois Caulfield Cup (2400m) for which the acceptance deadline is 10am on Tuesday, 16 October.
Emotionless, who was a second acceptor for the Caulfield Cup this week, is currently restricted to light walking duties at the WIHC and will remain so until Monday’s test is conducted.
