RV Stewards' Report - Hugh Bowman
Racing Victoria (RV) stewards advise that they have spoken again today with jockey Hugh Bowman regarding the circumstances that saw him relinquish his ride on beaten favourite Avilius in the Australian Cup at Flemington yesterday.
Bowman has confirmed that his wife Christine took ill yesterday and required medical attention.
Upon being informed, Bowman sought and was granted permission by RV stewards to return home immediately to Sydney to be with his wife.
Bowman has advised stewards that Christine is in better health today.
Bowman will be available to ride from Monday, 11 March.
