Racing Victoria wishes to advise that the picnic races abandoned at Balnarring on Saturday, 20 April will not be rescheduled.
Stewards inspected the track on Saturday morning and found an area at the 250m mark which was deemed unsafe for racing, due to a watering issue the day prior.
The decision to abandon was obviously a disappointing outcome for both participants and racegoers but made in the best interests of the jockeys and horses.
As Balnarring will not be rescheduled, the Picnic season concluded on Sunday, 21 April at Swifts Creek, noting the Picnic Grand Final race will be run at Cranbourne this Friday evening.
