In order to give the track at Seymour an additional month to consolidate, Racing Victoria (RV) wishes to advise that the race meeting scheduled for Seymour Racing Club on Thursday, 25 July has been transferred to Echuca.
Despite significant recent improvement and positive testing of the Seymour surface, the decision was taken to transfer the meeting in a bid to give the track the opportunity to consolidate further, with a conservative approach favoured for the longer-term benefit of the track.
Both the club and RV remain confident that the track will be fit for racing on Saturday, 24 August, when Seymour is due to host its next meeting.
The transfer to Echuca has prompted one distance change, with the 2000m BM64 Handicap extended to 2100m.
