Racing Victoria (RV) Stewards have received a report from Racing Analytical Services Limited (RASL) confirming that a prohibited substance has been detected in a urine sample collected from the Melody Cunningham trained racehorse, Yankee Toff.
The report relates to a post-race urine sample taken from Yankee Toff after the gelding won the Lime Therapy BM58 Handicap over 1200 metres at Mildura Racecourse on 26 July 2019.
RASL reported that the urine sample was shown to contain Heptaminol (a cardiac stimulant), which is a prohibited substance in accordance with the Australian Rules of Racing.
The Australian Racing Forensic Laboratory also reported that it had detected Heptaminol (a cardiac stimulant) within the reserve portion of the urine sample.
RV Stewards initially informed Ms Cunningham of the irregularity on 28 August 2019, and she was today advised of the confirmatory findings and that Stewards are continuing their investigation.
