The Showdown pre-race veterinary inspections completed

Racing Victoria (RV) veterinarians have this morning completed the pre-race veterinary inspections of horses engaged in The Showdown (1200m) to be run tomorrow (Saturday, 18 April) at Caulfield.

The Ciaron Maher and David Eustace-trained Ideas Man was re-examined this morning by RV veterinarians after the colt presented with lameness in the right fore yesterday.

Subsequently, Mr Maher and Mr Eustace have decided to withdraw Ideas Man from tomorrow’s race.

RV also advises that Beau Rossa has been withdrawn by trainer Will Clarken after the gelding suffered an injury during transportation from Adelaide.

All other horses have been passed fit to race.

As a result, emergencies Miss Kansas and Halvoya, both trained by Robbie Griffiths, have gained a start in the race.
