Racing Victoria (RV) wishes to advise that a new race meeting has been programmed at Spendthrift Australia Park (Werribee) this Sunday, 21 June 2020 to assist with ballot pressure and provide additional opportunities for lower rated horses.
Following a review of the current program, it was determined that the owners and trainers of lower rated horses would benefit from the additional race meeting which has been placed on a day where there was only one other Victorian meeting scheduled (Bendigo).
Six races have been programmed at Werribee with the intent to run multiple divisions – up to the current COVID-19 cap of nine races per meeting – should acceptances warrant it.
Today’s announcement follows the addition of a nine-race meeting at Moe yesterday in which an additional seven 0-58 handicaps were conducted.
