Racing Victoria (RV) and the Kyneton and Hanging Rock Racing Club (KHRRC) wish to advise that tomorrow’s bet365 Park Kyneton meeting (Saturday, 30 January 2021) has been abandoned due to the state of the track owing to today’s heavy rainfall.
RV Stewards have inspected the track this afternoon and deemed it unsuitable for racing due to surface water and soft patches.
The track has received 60mm of rain since 6am this morning. With rain forecast into this evening there is no prospect of the track drying out for tomorrow and it is unlikely to be in a suitable condition for several days.
Alternate tracks were considered for a potential transfer, however none were available in reasonable proximity due to the impacts of today’s rain, the current racing fixture and/or scheduled renovations.
Kyneton is next scheduled to race on Tuesday, 9 February.
Final acceptors for tomorrow’s meeting will be able to nominate as extended entries until 4pm (AEDT) on Sunday, 31 January for the Ladbrokes Park Sandown meeting on Wednesday, 3 February.
With meetings scheduled each day next week and multiple meetings on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, a replacement meeting will not be added at this time, however RV will monitor acceptances over the next fortnight and run extra divisions where necessary to accommodate impacted horses.
