Racing Victoria (RV) wishes to advise that the date for the 2021 Victorian Picnic Grand Final (1600m) has been confirmed with the race added to the program at Cranbourne’s night meeting on Friday, 16 April 2021.
Due to the previous uncertainties around the Picnic season as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the running of the Grand Final had not been confirmed until this point.
Traditionally the Picnic Grand Final is run two weeks after the conclusion of the Picnic season which this year ends with the meeting at Swifts Creek on Sunday, 4 April.
The $25,000 race is restricted to horses that have had at least two starts in Picnic Races in the 2020/21 season in Victoria.
For jockeys to be eligible to ride in the Grand Final they must have had at least five rides in Picnic races in Victoria throughout the season.
The updated program for the Cranbourne meeting is as follows:
