Racing Victoria (RV) and the Ballarat Turf Club (BTC) wish to advise that the Sportsbet-Ballarat meeting scheduled for this Sunday, 27 June has been transferred to Spendthrift Park Australia (Werribee).
The decision to transfer the meeting is a precautionary one ahead of acceptances to ensure that the meeting is conducted on turf.
The Ballarat turf track was rated a Heavy 10 before receiving heavy overnight rain with the forecast predicting more rain than initially expected from today until raceday.
With synthetic meetings programmed at Sportsbet-Pakenham on Monday and at Sportsbet-Ballarat on Tuesday, RV has sought a turf transfer rather than give the Ballarat turf track until Sunday and then initiate a transfer to synthetic if required.
Werribee is currently rated in the Soft range with the transfer to result in the two 1200 metre races being reduced to 1100 metres.
Acceptances for the weekend’s meetings will be pushed back as a result of the transfer. Wodonga (Saturday) acceptances will now close at 10am, Werribee at 10:15am and Casterton (Sunday) at 10:30am.
