tripleSdata and Champion Data to deliver new timing solution for Victorian racing

Racing Victoria (RV) is pleased to announce a long-term agreement with tripleSdata and Champion Data to deliver enhanced sectional timing and tracking for Victorian racing.

tripleSdata and Champion Data will work together to deliver this important new project to RV and will utilise the latest Swiss Timing technology combined with experienced venue operations capabilities and a bespoke technology platform to deliver valuable data, live into racing industry stakeholders.

The new solution will replace the Trakus timing system at Caulfield, Flemington and The Valley race meetings. It will also be introduced at Melbourne’s fourth metropolitan racetrack, Ladbrokes Park (Sandown).

The service will deliver all the familiar data points relating to sectional splits and timing for all horses, along with real-time tracking technology for broadcasters and Clubs to utilise, while providing scope for expansion into the future.

The valuable information will continue to be provided to customers and stakeholders through established access points such as’s broadcast and digital platforms, along with on-course screens.

The new timing solution will be activated at Melbourne’s four metropolitan racetracks throughout July and August, subject to any impact on final implementation and testing owing to COVID restrictions in place at the time.

It has been trialled at recent Ladbrokes Park meetings and will undergo further live testing at today’s race meeting. The new timing data will begin to be introduced across RV’s various media partnerships and platforms, including broadcast and digital, in the coming weeks.

“Phase one of the partnership with tripleSdata and Champion Data will see the new timing and tracking system operational at our four Melbourne tracks over the next six weeks in time for the Spring Racing Carnival.
