Racing Victoria (RV) wishes to advise that Tuesday’s scheduled meeting at Bairnsdale Racecourse has been abandoned owing to wet weather.
The Bairnsdale track has received 70mm of rain over the past 48 hours and with further showers forecast today and cold conditions tomorrow it was determined the track would not dry out in time for racing on Tuesday.
With no other turf tracks available, RV has scheduled a new meeting to be held on Tuesday, 7 September on the synthetic track at Pakenham Racecourse.
Nominations for the Sportsbet-Pakenham meeting will close at 9am tomorrow morning (Monday, 6 September) with weights to be released by 10am and acceptances to close at 11am.
All final acceptors for Bairnsdale will get preference in the ballot at Pakenham as a result of the meeting being abandoned.
