Times set for night racing resumption

With night racing set to resume on Friday at The Valley, Racing Victoria (RV) has today announced the race times for the opening month of the 2021-22 night racing season.

With attendance currently prohibited at Victorian racetracks, RV has advised that night meetings will finish an hour earlier than the previously agreed conclusion of 9.45pm, a move which will benefit participants.

The opening race at the four Friday night meetings from 24 September until 15 October 2021 will be 5.15pm and the last at 8.45pm with races scheduled every 30 minutes on the quarter hour.

The race times for night meetings beyond 15 October will be determined at a later point when more timely information around COVID-19 restrictions is available.

The Valley opens the season on Friday with the Group 1 Charter Keck Cramer Moir Stakes (1000m) which will be the seventh of eight races at 8.15pm.

The other Friday night meetings to be conducted over the opening month of the season are 1 October at The Valley, 8 October at Cranbourne (Pinker Pinker Plate) and 15 October at Sportsbet-Pakenham.
