Integrity restructure and senior appointment announced
Racing Victoria (RV) has today announced a key restructure of its non-race integrity functions and with it the appointment of a new senior integrity official.
RV is pleased to announce the appointment of Brent Fisher to the position of General Manager – Investigations and Intelligence within RV Integrity Services with effect from January 2022.
Mr Fisher joins RV from Harness Racing Victoria (HRV) where he has held the senior role of General Manager – Integrity since 2017. His career in racing integrity was preceded by a successful career in the police force in which he held a range of leadership roles.
Mr Fisher will lead a revamped Investigations and Intelligence Unit which will now incorporate the Compliance Assurance Team which had previously reported to the Chairman of Stewards. The unit will also feature Betting Analysis, Participant Protection, and Dispute Resolution and Mediation among its core functions.
The restructure comes following an internal resourcing review of RV Integrity Services and takes into consideration recommendations made earlier this year by the Racing Integrity Commissioner.
“We are delighted to welcome a person of Brent’s experience on board to lead up our revamped Investigations and Intelligence Unit. He brings a wealth of knowledge in racing and investigations to this critical role within our Integrity Services team,” RV Executive General Manager – Integrity Services, Jamie Stier, said.
“We are always focused on continuous improvement and ensuring that we have the right structures and people in place to best maintain the integrity of Victorian racing. This structural change and some additional future appointments within the Investigations and Intelligence Unit are an important enhancement to our non-race integrity functions.”
