Racing Victoria (RV) and the Cranbourne Turf Club (CTC) wish to advise that tonight’s Cranbourne meeting (Friday, 28 January 2022) has been abandoned due to the state of the track.
RV Stewards have inspected the track this afternoon and deemed it unsuitable for racing due to surface water.
The track has received 21mm of rain since 3:30pm this afternoon, with more rain forecast into this evening.
As per Racing Victoria’s policy on abandoned meetings, the connections of all horses due to compete in the eight races will receive a compensation fee.
Final acceptors for tonight’s meeting will be able to nominate as extended entries until 4pm (AEDT) on Sunday, 30 January for the Ladbrokes Park Hillside meeting on Wednesday, 2 February.
