Racing Victoria (RV) and the Ballarat Turf Club (BTC) wish to advise that the turf meeting scheduled at Sportsbet-Ballarat tomorrow (Thursday, 9 June) has been transferred to the Club’s synthetic track.
The turf track was inspected by RV Stewards yesterday and again this afternoon, and deemed not suitable for racing owing to a wet patch of turf near the 700m mark.
With rain forecast for the remainder of today and tomorrow, the turf track isn’t expected to dry out in time and thus the decision to transfer the meeting was made in the interests of horses and participant safety.
The transfer was made to the Ballarat synthetic track because there was no suitable alternative turf venue available tomorrow.
The updated program as a result of the transfer to the synthetic track is as follows:

Trainers are reminded of distance changes to races four and eight, as well as field limit reductions to 12 runners for races three and then five to nine.
All scratchings for the race meeting have been reinstated, with trainers having until 7:30am tomorrow to scratch their horse free of charge.
