Racing Victoria (RV) wishes to advise that the meeting scheduled at Donald tomorrow (Saturday, 13 July) has been transferred to Warracknabeal and the meeting at Sportsbet-Ballarat on Sunday, 14 July has been moved to the club’s synthetic track.
The track at Donald was inspected today and it was concluded that the surface is currently unsuitable for racing and was unlikely to dry out before tomorrow.
As such, it was determined the best course of action would be to transfer the nine-race card to Warracknabeal, where the track is currently rated a Soft 7.
With 31ml of rain having fallen in Ballarat during the week, 17ml of which fell in the last 24 hours, and further rain forecast over the weekend, it has also been determined that the Ballarat turf track is unlikely to be suitable for racing by Sunday.
Therefore, with limited turf options available due to the recent rainfall and current racing schedules, it was determined the best option is to move the meeting to the synthetic track at Ballarat.
Scratchings at both meetings, will be re-instated following the transfers and trainers will have until 7.30am on Saturday (for Donald) and 7.30am on Sunday (for Ballarat) to scratch their horse at no cost.
