Revamped Premier Race Series gets an upgrade

Racing Victoria Staff

With a revamped VOBIS Premier Race Series, exclusive to VOBIS Gold and VOBIS Platinum eligible horses, to offer up to $5.6 million in prizemoney, bonuses and vouchers across the 2025-26 season, trainers and owners are encouraged to upgrade their horses to the lucrative VOBIS Gold & VOBIS Platinum programs by 30 November

The 2025-26 VOBIS Premier Race Series will offer even greater rewards to connections with VOBIS Silver and VOBIS Gold bonuses, as well as VOBIS Platinum vouchers, available on every race across the series. View the full schedule here.

Kicking off with the $200,000 VOBIS Gold Star (1500m) at The Valley on Friday, 24 October, the series will feature 17 lucrative races – with six set to be run on Victorian Owners and Breeders Raceday (VOBRD) at Caulfield on Saturday, 14 March 2026.

The revamped series enhances what was already an impressive program on VOBRD, which for the first time next year includes the VOBIS Gold So Si Bon (1400m), a race named in honour of Lindsay Park’s popular galloper.

So Si Bon, who now resides at Living Legends, became something of a poster boy for the VOBIS program, having won the VOBIS Gold Mile on two occasions on route to collecting more than $60,000 in bonuses for his connections.

VOBRD will again be headlined by the VOBIS Platinum Showdown (1200m) for juveniles and the VOBIS Platinum Guineas (1600m) for three-year-olds, worth a combined $1.5 million in prizemoney.

McGaw, a $14,000 Inglis Premier purchase for his trainers Emma-Lee and David Browne, prevailed in a gripping renewal of The Showdown earlier this year, earning his overjoyed connections a cheque for $571,000 to reinforce why it pays for owners and trainers to race their horses right here in Victoria.

John Moloney’s Dictionary had the final word in the 2024-25 Premier Race Series when he defeated hot favourite Jimmy The Bear in the VOBIS Gold Stayers (2400m) at Caulfield, taking his prizemoney haul past the $300,000 mark thanks to a bumper $117,250 payday.

Despite being unable to extend a winning streak which included victory in the VOBIS Gold Heath (2000m), Jimmy The Bear still enjoyed a very profitable preparation as he moved his career earnings close to $1.4 million with that sizeable bounty bolstered by more than $100,000 in VOBIS bonuses.

To ensure you don’t miss out on the opportunity to chase the riches on offer through the VOBIS Gold & VOBIS Platinum program, upgrade your two-year-olds here.
