RV Stewards' Report - Vincent Hall

Racing Victoria Staff

Racing Victoria (RV) Stewards have received a report from Racing Analytical Services Limited (RASL) confirming the detection of a prohibited substance in a sample collected from the Vincent Hall trained racehorse, Harmonett.

The report relates to a post-race urine sample taken from Harmonett after the mare raced in the Brad Masters Plumbing Handicap BM52 (Race 2) over 1000 metres at Sandown Racecourse on 21 January 2026. The mare placed first.

RASL reported that the urine sample was shown to contain fexofenadine, which is a prohibited substance under the Australian Rules of Racing.

The Australian Racing Forensic Laboratory also reported the detection of fexofenadine within the reserve portion of the urine sample.

Fexofenadine is an antihistamine used to relieve the symptoms of hay fever (seasonal allergic rhinitis) and hives (chronic idiopathic urticaria) in humans. It is not registered for use in horses.

RV Stewards initially informed Mr. Hall of the irregularity on 25 February 2026. Mr. Hall has now been informed of the confirmatory findings and that Stewards are continuing their investigation.
