Racing Victoria Stewards remind trainers of their obligations under the Rules of Racing to ensure that horses are presented for racing with no prohibited substances (as defined in AR 1) in their systems.
Trainers are reminded that arsenic is a prohibited substance when present at a mass concentration of 0.30 milligrams per litre in urine.
The Stewards remind trainers that several products which can be purchased over the counter may give rise to positive findings when used close to racing. These products include, but are not limited to Jurocyl®, Ferrocyl®, Troy Invigorate® and Arcyl®.
The Stewards recommend that veterinary advice be sought prior to the use of these and any other products containing arsenic.
