Racing Victoria (RV) wishes to notify owners about the changes being made to the Victorian Owners’ Gold Card eligibility criteria for the 2018/19 season.
Over the coming weeks, RV will be informing all Victorian owners whether or not they satisfy the new regulations which will be introduced from 1 August, 2018.
If you own a share in a registered horse which is trained in Victoria, or a horse – whether Victorian or interstate – which has been nominated to race in Victoria at least once since January 1 2017, you will receive notification confirming your eligibility as an active owner.
Existing owners who do not meet this criteria will also be notified about their ineligibility, and will be considered inactive until such time as this changes. These changes are being introduced as part of RV’s annual assessment of the Victorian Owners’ Gold Card program, and will provide a more accurate account of the active population of owners participating in Victorian racing.
The criteria will recognise owners of horses that are trained in Victoria, irrespective of the owners’ location. Owners of horses that are nominated to race in Victoria will also continue to be recognised.
Regardless of owners’ eligibility, all current cards will remain active until 1 August, 2018. Ineligible owners’ cards will be deactivated until such time as the ownership becomes active again. No new cards will be issued for the 2018/19 season, so all owners are advised to retain their cards.
Victorian Owners’ Gold Card holders will continue to benefit from a wide range of raceday privileges, including admission and members passes on the day their horses run, as well as complimentary race books, parking and access to on-course owners’ facilities.
If you have any questions regarding your Victorian Owners’ Gold Card or the associated privileges, please contact our Owner Services team on 1300 139 412. RV would encourage owners to stay in touch with industry developments and the latest news online at owner.racing.com.
