Tycoon Bella too strong in the VOBIS Gold Eureka Stockade

The second leg of the VOBIS Gold Premier Race Series was held on Ballarat Cup Day, Saturday, 23 November, where a strong field of up and coming three-year-olds contested the $205,000 Magnum Equine VOBIS Gold Eureka Stockade (1400m).

The Cindy Alderson-trained Tycoon Bella prevailed on the day, storming home with Luke Currie aboard to win by two-and-half lengths, claiming her second win from as many starts.

The Written Tycoon/Tio Rossa filly was too strong for the Danny O’Brien-trained Can’t Be Done who finished second with the Shane Stockdale-trained No Change rounding out the placegetters.

The Premier Race Series now heads to Pakenham where four-year-olds and over have the chance to compete for the $180,000 VOBIS Gold Bullion (1400m) on the Club’s Cup Day on Saturday, 7 December.

This season’s series boasts a record $4.68 million in prizemoney and bonuses and is open to all VOBIS Gold nominated horses and includes races for all ages, across a range of distances in metropolitan and country Victoria.

It features 18 races from October 2019 to July 2020 and is highlighted by the $1 million Ladbrokes Showdown, and this season’s introduction of the $500,000 VOBIS Sires race for three-year-olds, both of which will be run on Victorian Owners and Breeders Raceday at Caulfield on Saturday, 25 July 2020.
