Be here to show your support for the horses

The spotlight is now firmly on racing during the Spring Racing Carnival. As it gathers momentum there will be many varied opinions on our great sport and the welfare of our horses shared across social media.

As a Victorian thoroughbred owner, you are a vital part of the Victorian thoroughbred racing industry - your commitment supports the training, care and welfare of the stars of our sport – the horses.

The love of the horse is real within Victorian racing and this Spring, we will showcase how each of us are here for the horses every day.

To do this, we need your help.

If you have a social media account, we want you to share how you are here for the horses by posting photos or ownership stories that celebrate your love for horses, across your social media channels. The following information includes some tips on how to share your story using the hashtag #hereforthehorses.

When doing so, please ensure that you are COVID-19 compliant so we can also showcase the great work everyone is doing to keep racing going and stay COVID safe.  This means if you are capturing new images during the current pandemic, you must have a mask on that covers both your nose and mouth if you are filming outside your private property.

This Spring, we are excited to see social media filled with positive stories and posts that demonstrate how Victorian thoroughbred racehorse owners are #hereforthehorses.

How can I show I am #hereforthehorses?

Whether it is reflecting on your favourite horse, a past win or watching your horse race from home, start by completing this sentence ‘I’m here for the horses…’

Tell us your story about how you are here for the horses.

Then share it across your own social channels by using #hereforthehorses and tagging the following:

Facebook: @racingvictoria
Instagram: @racingvictoria
Twitter: @RacingInsider

And if using Instagram Stories, don’t forget to search for our GIF sticker using the words ‘Here For The Horses’ and add it to your stories.

TIP: You can also post photos and tell us how you are here for the horses in the caption.
