Tim Rourke appointed Deputy Chair

The Board of Racing Victoria (RV) has announced the unanimous appointment of Tim Rourke as its new Deputy Chair following the conclusion of Sharon McCrohan’s term on the Board.

In accordance with the RV Constitution, Minister for Racing Anthony Carbines has welcomed and confirmed Mr Rourke’s appointment as Deputy Chair for the duration of his current term to June 2028.

Appointed to the RV Board in June 2024, Mr Rourke is the Chair of the RV Audit & Risk Sub-Committee and a member of the Racing Sub-Committee.

He is the current Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of CitiPower, Powercor, United Energy and Victoria Power Networks. Mr Rourke also currently serves as a director on the board of Energy Networks Australia.

Mr Rourke has held various senior positions across the energy sector since 1995 and is also an active thoroughbred owner and breeder enjoying success with Young Werther among others.

Ms McCrohan departs the RV Board today after an eight-year term, including the last 15 months as Deputy Chair, to take up a position as a senior executive with the AFL.

Accordingly, Minister Carbines has initiated a process through the Victorian Government’s Office of Racing to fill two vacancies on the RV Board. Applications for the new Directorships are open to 19 October 2025.
