Passionate racehorse owner Curtis Cooper will run almost 2,200km in the space of 12 months in the name of charity.
The 37-year-old is currently four months into his mammoth quest to run 52 marathons in 52 weeks in a bid to raise funds for child protection charity Bravehearts.
Founded in 1997, Bravehearts is an Australian child protection charity dedicated to the prevention and treatment of child sexual abuse.
They educate, empower and protect children and young people by way of personal safety education programs, child protection training, trauma-informed counselling, research, lobbying and national awareness campaigns
It’s a charity close to Curtis’ heart and the cause behind his initiative which started this year on June 30 when he ran the first of an astonishing seven marathons in seven days across seven states.
Curtis, who has enjoyed metropolitan wins as racehorse owner through the likes of Netanyahu and Brilliant Venture, has raised $27,000 through his efforts so far and is aiming for a total $250,000 before he completes his final marathon on Day 1 at the Bravehearts 777 in Perth on 29 June 2026.
