Warning regarding the use of product iO Fenbender 100

Racing Victoria (RV) has been made aware of a Harness Racing New South Wales (HRNSW) investigation in which the Australian Racing Forensic Laboratory (ARFL) has detected traces of levamisole in a sample of the oral worm drench product iO Fenbender 100. 

Metabolites of levamisole include aminorex and pemoline which are stimulants and hence, levamisole is a Prohibited Substance under the Australian Rules of Racing. 

Trainers are advised that the use of the product iO Fenbender 100 may result in a sample irregularity and disciplinary proceedings.

Further work is being undertaken to clarify the situation, and RV will provide relevant information when it is available.
