VOBIS vouchers set to turbocharge trade at Premier Sale

With more than 200 VOBIS Sires lots on offer at next month’s Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale, buyers heading to Oaklands Junction with a valid VOBIS Platinum voucher in their pockets will be spoilt for choice across the three days of trading.
Melbourne’s most prestigious yearling auction has previously proved a very happy hunting ground for any owners keen to reinvest their vouchers on an eligible colt or filly, and this year’s offering represents another veritable feast with a grand total of 230 lots bearing the VOBIS Platinum logo.
VOBIS success stories include Rohesia, who was plucked from Rosemont’s draft for $150,000 by an all-female syndicate flushed with vouchers from the success they had enjoyed with another Lindsay Park-trained filly, Croatian Belle.
Croatian Belle, who is now a member of Kingstar Farm’s boutique broodmare band, had claimed $60,000 in VOBIS Platinum vouchers for connections, enabling her owners to gain a significant discount on Rohesia’s purchase price at the 2024 Premier Sale.
The canny acquisition reaped further rewards for her ownership group as Rohesia – who tuned up for her autumn campaign with an impressive trial win at Pakenham on Tuesday morning – has so far amassed almost $200,000 in prizemoney as well as a $30,000 VOBIS Platinum voucher, which can be redeemed at any recognised yearling, weanling or Ready To Run sale in Australasia.
Of the $2.2 million in VOBIS Platinum vouchers redeemed so far at the sales, more than $1.6 million has been spent at Inglis auctions and, given the quality and quantity on offer at Oaklands Junction from 1-3 March, there is every chance that figure will increase significantly.
With eligible lots by leading Victorian stallions such as Toronado, Street Boss, Shamus Award and Alabama Express, as well as the siblings to a plethora of stakes winners including the half-sister to Ciaron Maher’s dynamic Inglis Banner (1000m) heroine Calamari Ring (Lot 45), there are options aplenty for anyone on the hunt for their next VOBIS star at the Premier Sale.
“The VOBIS Platinum program has been an absolute game-changer,” said James Price, Inglis’ Victorian Bloodstock Manager.
“These vouchers make it so easy for people to purchase horses at the yearling sales, especially in their home backyard at Inglis Premier in a few weeks’ time. There are 230 VOBIS Sires lots in the Premier catalogue from March 1-3, which creates so many opportunities for buyers to redeem their vouchers on some of the best yearlings on offer anywhere in the world in 2026.
“I would strongly encourage people to take their vouchers to Oaklands Junction in a few weeks and use them to buy their next Bella Nipotina, Nature Strip, Vinrock or Nepotism, the list just goes on of the star graduates that have been offered through Inglis Premier in recent years.”
Only the paid-up progeny of VOBIS Sires stallions are eligible to compete in the $1 million VOBIS Platinum Showdown (1200m) and the $500,000 VOBIS Sires Guineas (1600m), which headline the 12th edition of Victorian Owners and Breeders Raceday at Caulfield on Saturday, 14 March.
