Wednesday’s Sportsbet Ballarat meeting transferred from the turf to the synthetic track

Racing Victoria (RV) wishes to advise that the meeting at Sportsbet Ballarat this Wednesday, 24 June has been transferred to the synthetic track due to the current condition of the turf track, which has received 48mm of rain over the past seven days.

Following an inspection of the turf track by RV Stewards in conjunction with club officials, it was determined that the condition of the track was unlikely to improve sufficiently to race safely and so, the decision was made to switch the meeting to the synthetic surface. 

RV explored transferring the meeting to alternate turf venues, however was unable to find any suitable options given the upcoming schedule of meetings and wet weather across the state. 

Nominations for the Ballarat Synthetic meeting will reset and close at 12pm today with any previous entries required to re-nominate for the new program. Weights will be released shortly after the close of nominations with acceptances to close at 2pm.
