Abandoned Sportsbet-Ballarat races rescheduled for Tuesday

Racing Victoria (RV) wishes to advise that the four abandoned races from yesterday’s Sportsbet-Ballarat Synthetic program have been added to the existing six-race program at the same venue on Tuesday, 11 August.

The rescheduled contests will be run as Races 7-10 on the now 10-race program, with all final fields and distances remaining the same. Scratching fees will be waived for connections who no longer wish to run their horse in the rescheduled races.

The updated program and timings for Tuesday’s Sportsbet-Ballarat Synthetic meeting are as follows:

Following the running of the fourth race on yesterday’s Sportsbet-Ballarat card, RV Stewards imposed an indefinite delay due to visibility concerns caused by fog.

Following further consultation with the Bureau of Meteorology, who advised there was no guarantee the fog would lift, the decision was made to abandon the remainder of the meeting after conditions failed to improve prior to the running of race five.
