Owner Gold Card

Owners who are active Owners are eligible for a Victorian Owner Gold Card. Racing Victoria defines an Active Owner who receives a Victorian Owners Gold Card as:  

• An Owner whose (1 or more) Registered Horse has a Stable Return in VICTORIA at least 19 months prior to August 1 of the relevant racing season commencing and the horse status is either ‘Active’, ‘Spelling’, or ‘Pending’. The Horse should be 12 years or under to meet this eligibility criteria. Horse status as ‘Transferred’ will be excluded from eligibility.  

  OR

• An Owner whose (1 or more) Registered Horse has Accepted at least once in a Victorian Race during the Racing Year.
   

Any Owner who meets at least one of these two definitions will receive a Victorian Owner Gold Card for the corresponding Racing Season. 

When your horse is racing:

You can use your Victorian Owner Gold Card to access the racecourse and a number of other entitlements when you have a horse racing.

When your horse is not racing:

Your VOGC gives you General Admission access to most race meetings in Victoria each season, even if you don’t have a runner. To find out more and to see a list of excluded race meetings please see below.

Owners are entitled to a general admission ticket at non-feature metropolitan and country racedays, regardless of whether the owner has a runner or not.

Restrictions apply during Caulfield Cup Carnival, Cox Plate Carnival, Melbourne Cup Carnival, Country Cups and some weekend race meetings, which are at the discretion of each club.

Owner Gold Card holders will be provided with one complimentary racebook, provided to owners named in the racebook. A maximum of 20 racebooks are allocated per horse.

Owner Gold Card holders and ticketed guests may access the relevant owners’ facilities when on course. Owners with a runner will receive complimentary refreshments (minimum 1 x complimentary beer, wine or soft drink per owner upon voucher redemption). Grandstand seating access will be provided where available.

This privilege is only extended for the race in which their horse is engaged and access is dependent on each club’s maximum capacity under their OH&S policy. Owners are encouraged to contact the individual race clubs to further understand raceday access.

Owner Gold Card minimum raceday privileges are not available at picnic race meetings, however, owners are encouraged to experience the friendly, relaxed atmosphere that picnic race meetings offer.
