About The Service
Providing free access for all licensed participants to qualified employment advice, education and issue resolution, the new HR Assist service is an extension of Racing Victoria’s (RV) participant wellbeing program.
Why has the service been launched?
The welfare of racing participants is of paramount importance to RV. Following on from the introduction of STABLELINE and the appointment of Participant Protection and Wellbeing Managers, HR Assist is a dedicated resource available to participants in the Victorian thoroughbred racing industry who wish to consult with experts on conditions of employment and other workplace matters.
Who is funding the program?
RV is funding the service but it will be delivered by an independent organisation, iHR Australia. Users of the service have access to three sessions totaling up to 60 minutes of advice over the phone with an employment specialist for each matter. All advisory sessions are treated in the strictest confidence, and no personal or identifying information will be shared with RV.
What are the benefits and expected outcomes?
A general improvement in the industry’s understanding of what employment law entails, leading to greater compliance, higher staff retention rate and a healthier workplace culture.
When will it operate?
The service will be offered on weekdays (Monday to Friday) between the hours of 9am-5pm.
How long will the program run for?
After an initial six-month pilot, RV will measure the effectiveness and demand of the service with a view to extending the program long-term.
How can I use the service?
The service can be accessed by calling 1300 884 687, with users required to state that they require advice under the Racing Victoria HR Assist support service. Alternatively, you can email a member of the team at iHR on rvhra@ihraustralia.com
