The series is a key feature for the Thursday and Friday night meetings held at Southside tracks, with $900,000 in prizemoney on offer throughout.
The lucrative maiden series serves to kickstart promising racing careers and provide a broad section of trainers and owners with an opportunity to chase the riches.
Conditions for the Future Stars series are below:
- The series will be open to three-, four- and five-year-old horses only
- 10 $65,000 maiden heats over distances of 1200m or 1400m
- A $250,000 final run over 1400m as a Class 3 Set Weights contest
- The winner of each heat will automatically qualify for the final
- If qualified horses do not accept for the final, then their spots are offered to the highest-rated second placegetters among the heats
