Racing Victoria (RV) wishes to advise that the Sportsbet-Sandown meeting scheduled for Wednesday, 13 March has been transferred to the newly completed Caulfield Heath track.
The Melbourne Racing Club (MRC) conducted jump outs and official trials yesterday (Thursday, 29 February) on the new inner track to assess the surface, following the first set of official trials conducted on Monday, 29 January.
After consultation with the MRC, jockeys and RV Stewards, the Caulfield Heath track was approved for racing and the MRC’s request to transfer the meeting from Sportsbet-Sandown was granted.
At this meeting the new racing infrastructure, which includes the raceday stalls and mounting yard, will be utilised for the first time.
The unchanged program is below and field limits will be 12 for the 1000m and 1200m races and 10 for the 1500m and 1800m races.
