Upcoming Terang meeting transferred

Racing Victoria (RV) has announced that the bet365 Terang meeting scheduled for next Friday, 22 March has been transferred to Horsham.

RV and the Terang Racing Club (TRC) have agreed that the track requires additional time to recover from a busy recent schedule which has included multiple race meetings, jumps trials and jump-outs.

The transfer of next week’s meeting will ensure the TRC’s premier meeting, the Terang Cup, can proceed as programmed on Sunday, 14 April.

RV’s notes that its preference was to transfer the meeting to a venue within the south-west region, however no suitable options were available due to current racing scheduled and planned track renovations.

As a result of the transfer the following changes have also occurred:

• The jumps races originally scheduled for bet365 Terang have been transferred to Warrnambool’s meeting on Monday, 25 March;

• As a result, three maiden races have been taken off the Warrnambool program and moved to the Friday, 22 March program at Horsham. These are the maidens over 1200m, 1400m and 1700m; and

• The trials scheduled for Horsham on Wednesday, 20 March have been transferred to Donald, with the distances adjusted as follows - 800m becomes 850m, 1100m becomes 1050m and the 1400m become 1350m.

Nominations for the newly transferred meeting at Horsham will close on Monday, 18 March at 12 noon (AEDT).
