Stawell meeting rescheduled due to hot weather forecast

Racing Victoria (RV) wishes to advise that the Stawell meeting, scheduled to take place on Friday, 4 January 2019, has been rescheduled due to the extreme hot weather forecast.

Following advice from the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) that the expected temperature will reach 43 degrees on Friday, RV, in consultation with the Stawell Racing Club, the Australian Trainers Association (ATA) and the Victorian Jockey Association (VJA), has decided to transfer the race meeting to Monday, 7 January to ensure the safety of horses and participants.

Acceptances for the meeting have been extended to 8.30am this Friday, 4 January 2019.

Race times have been amended with Race 1 scheduled to be held at 12.40pm and Race 8 at 5.00pm.

All revised meeting dates and race times have been implemented in accordance with RV’s Procedure for Racing in Hot Weather Policy, which is designed to ensure the health and wellbeing of horses and participants is paramount.
