Racing Victoria (RV), in consultation with the Ballarat Turf Club (BTC), wishes to advise that the Sportsbet-Ballarat meeting scheduled for this Sunday, 12 July will be transferred to The Valley.
RV stewards have inspected the Ballarat turf track and were of the view that certain sections past the winning post have suffered from recent racing and wet weather and thus would benefit from additional time to recover.
The next meeting on the turf track is scheduled for Sunday, 23 August (Grand National Steeplechase Day) with the BTC confident the track will recover in time to conduct this meeting.
RV considered similar country venues, however the racing program, impacts of wet weather and track maintenance requirements meant that The Valley was the best option to host the meeting.
In line with RV’s updated biosecurity protocols announced this morning, owners are reminded that they will not be permitted entry to Sunday’s race meeting at The Valley as the racecourse is located in a Local Government Area where Stage 3 “Stay at Home” restrictions are in place.
