Today’s metropolitan race meeting at The Valley was abandoned after Race 5 due to the state of the track owing to ongoing heavy rainfall.
Following a track inspection with riders, Racing Victoria (RV) Stewards elected to abandon the meeting on safety grounds owing to surface water on various parts of the track.
RV will consult with the Moonee Valley Racing Club (MVRC) this week regarding the two abandoned black type races, the Listed McKenzie Stakes (1200m) and Listed Carlyon Stakes (1000m), and determine whether they will be rescheduled to a future meeting at The Valley.
