Times set for night racing resumption

With night racing set to resume in a week at The Valley, Racing Victoria (RV) has today announced the race times for the opening month of the 2020-21 night racing season.

With attendance currently prohibited at the state’s three night racing venues, RV has advised that the meetings will start and finish earlier, a move which will benefit participants.

The opening race at the five Friday night meetings from 25 September until 23 October 2020 will be 5.15pm and the last at 8.45pm with races scheduled every 30 minutes on the quarter hour.

The race times for night meetings beyond 23 October will be determined at a later point when more timely information around COVID-19 restrictions and case numbers is available.

The Valley opens the season on 25 September with the Group 1 Charter Keck Cramer Moir Stakes (1000m) which will be the seventh of eight races at 8.15pm.

The same timeslot is currently pencilled in for the Group 1 Ladbrokes Manikato Stakes (1200m) at The Valley on 23 October.

The other Friday night meetings to be conducted over the opening month of the season are 2 October at The Valley, 9 October at Cranbourne (Pinker Pinker Plate) and 16 October at Sportsbet-Pakenham.
