Social Media Policy Updated

Social media is constantly evolving so it's integral that Racing Victoria continually looks at ways to protect you and the Victorian thoroughbred racing industry and that the industry’s Social Media Policy reflects current trends and expectations.

This Policy aims to make sure you feel comfortable in speaking up, if you are concerned about content on social media, regardless if it is or isn’t directed at you.

The intention of this Policy is to outline and provide guidance to you, with respect to your use of social media when you:

  • engage in communications via social media with other participants in the industry; and
  • comment about the broader industry, stakeholders, clubs and RV.

It also complements Racing Victoria’s Participant Protection Policy which is aimed at safeguarding young people and vulnerable adults.

When using social media, you should always remember that you are bound by the Rules of Racing.

This Policy outlines the relevant rules which may relate to your conduct on social media, and how to report any concerns when you feel that the content and/or conduct may be a breach of this Policy and/or the Rules of Racing.
