Following a review of the race program over the next fortnight, Racing Victoria (RV) has added a 1200m maiden race for two-year-olds to the Queen’s Birthday Race Day at Mornington on Monday, 10 June.
The decision was made after two horses were balloted out of the Champions Estate Two-Years-Old Maiden Plate (1200m) at Sportsbet-Ballarat Synthetic this Sunday, 2 June, and seven horses missed out on the opportunity to contest the Moe Optical Two-Years-Old Maiden Plate (1100m) at Moe on Monday, 3 June.
Nominations for the additional race at Mornington, which will carry a prize purse of $35,000, will close with the rest of the meeting next Wednesday, 5 June, with acceptances closing at 8:30am on Friday, 7 June.
