Racing Victoria (RV) and the Geelong Racing Club (GRC) wish to advise that the meeting scheduled at Geelong on Thursday, 1 April has been transferred to Werribee Racecourse.
The course proper at Geelong has undergone scheduled drainage works since the GRC’s last meeting on 27 January. Those works were successful, however the growing conditions over the past month have not been at their optimum.
Following a track inspection this week by the GRC and RV, it was determined that the track still needs additional time to consolidate before conducting a race meeting.
RV and the GRC will continue to monitor the progress of the track over the next fortnight to determine whether the Club is in a position to host their scheduled race meetings on Tuesday, 13 April and Tuesday, 20 April.
