Racing Victoria (RV) and the Edenhope Racing Club (ERC) wish to advise that today’s Edenhope meeting (Saturday, 12 March 2022) has been abandoned due to an unsafe section of the track.
RV Stewards and jockeys inspected the track following the running of Race 3 with an unstable piece of turf detected near the 1200m mark.
Stewards and jockeys agreed that the section of track was not safe for racing and that the meeting should be abandoned.
As per RV’s policy on abandoned meetings, the connections of all horses due to compete in the remaining five races will receive a compensation fee.
RV’s racing operations team will consider the program early next week and advise if any changes will be made.
Any affected horses can be nominated for races at the meeting at Ladbrokes Park (Sandown) on Wednesday (16 March) prior to the late nomination deadline at 4pm (AEDT) tomorrow.
